Orla O’Regan is a Senior Manager leading liquidations of solvent and insolvent entities. She has over twelve years’ experience in restructuring, insolvency and forensic accounting working in the Cayman Islands, Ireland, Guernsey, and the British Virgin Islands.
With extensive offshore experience, Orla has spent over a year working closely with a Cayman Islands Captive management company, handling regulatory and insolvency matters for 45 captives (both cores and cells) situated in the Cayman Islands and the Bahamas. She has also overseen the winding down of a fund administration company and coordinated the re-homing of a portfolio of funds and trusts registered across multiple jurisdictions. Additionally, Orla participated in an on-site bank inspection with an offshore Regulator and has managed both solvent and insolvent liquidations in various jurisdictions, often addressing complex cross-border issues.
Orla’s onshore experience includes property, personal and pre-pack receiverships, examinerships, assisting with the administration of an insurance and re-insurance company, managing liquidations and forensic accounting. Orla also spent four months in the financial planning team of the fortune 500 company PepsiCo.
Orla graduated with a Bachelor of Business Studies (Accounting with Law) from the University of Limerick and holds a Diploma in Insolvency and Corporate Recovery awarded by the Law Society of Ireland. She is a member of the Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). She also completed the Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) course with the International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE).
