Mauricia Nisbett-Potter is the Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer for FFP’s BVI office. She concentrates on regulatory compliance, anti-money laundering, counterterrorist financing, and risk management. Mauricia has been approved by the BVI Regulator in various Compliance roles since 2018 and works very closely with the client facing BVI team, as they onboard new clients, review engagements and develop safeguards and risk mitigating steps, especially where enhanced due diligence is required. Mauricia also works closely with the team whilst continually monitoring all client engagements and trouble-shooting issues as they arise on a board range of complex matters, which FFP is known for working on.
Mauricia’s career spans over 20 years in the BVI Financial Services Industry where she has gained extensive knowledge in Corporate Administration, Corporate Governance, AEOI Services and Trust & Fiduciary Services. Her Compliance knowledge includes, working with executives, leading successful efforts in developing and executing legal, compliance, regulatory and risk solution strategies, managing and enhancing the Compliance functions, designing, and performing risk assessments, compliance audits, designing, establishing, implementing and revising compliance systems, policies and procedures. Mauricia has also led various compliance training sessions and processes.
Mauricia’s qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in law (UOL), Member of STEP (TEP) and Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance (ICA).
