Jasmine Herrod leads the Forensics and Investigations team, serving as the Director of Forensic and Investigations directly supporting the firms’ niche business on contentious and complex trust, director, corporate and insolvency appointments. Jasmine supervises eDiscovery and litigation support on FFP’s appointments as well as supervising case management on contentious engagements.
With 17 years’ of Post Qualification Experience (PQE) in litigation and eDiscovery, Jasmine brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Prior to joining FFP Cayman, she worked as a legal practitioner in New Zealand and the UK before moving to the Cayman Islands in 2015, to work on AHAB v SICL & Ors (FSD 54 of 2009 (ASCJ)), the largest value Cayman Islands financial fraud case.
Jasmine specializes in effective eDiscovery strategy understanding both the technology and the legal nuances involved. Jasmine has considerable experience managing engagements involving allegations of fraud and asset tracing. Recent work has involved oversight of litigation or coordination of litigation support on appointments involving high profile multi-jurisdiction court proceedings including Abraaj related matters FSD 150 and 203 of 2020 (Cayman), trust and forfeiture proceedings relating to the 1MBD dispute (New Zealand, USA), successful claim against an international bank arising from investigation into a global ponzi scheme (USA) and winding-up of the related funds on the basis of fraud related claims (Cayman, BVI). Jasmine also has a background in managing engagements involving allegations of fraud and asset tracing.
Jasmine is qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales (2013) and a Barrister and Solicitor in New Zealand (2005). She is an active member of of esteemed associations such as the Recovery and Insolvency Specialists Association (RISA), the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) and International Ladies in Trusts Association (ILITA).
